Fun on the Fourth

No matter what your Independence Day holiday plans, they likely involve food, friends, family, and fun. And maybe fireworks! It’s a wonderful opportunity to have some fun with food, go red white and blue, nosh on fresh produce, get your grill on, and keep it easy.

Let us inspire you with these fabulous fourth foods!

Strawberry Poppers: mix cream cheese with confectioners’ sugar; pipe onto a strawberry, top with blueberries.

Watermelon Stars: as easy as it looks- slice a watermelon and cut out stars with a cookie cutter.

Red White and Blue Salad: toss your favorite greens with raspberries, strawberries, blueberries and feta cheese. Add a dressing mixed with olive oil, balsamic vinegar and honey. Add nuts for crunch and protein.

BLT Bruschetta: Slice a loaf of Italian bread and top with a mixture of chopped lettuce, crumbled bacon, tomato pieces, and ranch dressing or your favorite creamy salad dressing.

Red Devil Eggs: Add some hot sauce to your regular deviled egg recipe for a zip. Add a festive touch with a sprinkle of red paprika.

BBQ Brats: Precook Johnsonville fresh brats in a beer bath, then transfer to a hot grill. Try some new condiments, such as honey mustard, BBQ sauce, French fried onions, and potato straws.
